Notes: While it references “blogging your way to a six-figure income,” that doesn’t have to be your goal to benefit from this book. It provides a good solid overview of blogging, along with useful tips and techniques for building a successful blog. 

31 Days to Build a Better Blog Workbook

Notes: 31 useful tips, with specific details on how to implement each one and links to additional resources and examples. 

42 Rules for 24-Hour Success on LinkedIn
Author: Chris Muccio, David Burns, Petty Murrah

Notes: As one reviewer put it, great for beginners and a useful reference for more experienced LinkedIn users. Available on Amazon.

Groundswell: Winning in a World Transformed by Social Technologies

Notes: If you read only one social media book, read this one—especially if you’re not from the Facebook generation. However, the book has good examples and strategies even for those from that generation. Available on Amazon.

WordPress Complete

Notes: While a couple of years old, this book gives a good overview of how to implement and manage a WordPress blog. Available on Amazon.

Building a WordPress Blog People Want to Read

Notes: More recent than WordPress Complete, it provides a good starting point for people new to WordPress. Available on Amazon.

WordPress for Dummies 2nd Edition 2009

Notes: If you like the “For Dummies” series, this is a good book to buy. It covers up to the latest upgrades to the WordPress software though 2.7.x. Available on Amazon.
